Local insurance company gives food bank a boost (2 photos)

Staff and clients helped McLean & Dickey deliver 652 pounds of food to 'this incredibly well-organized facility that does so much for our community'

Earlier this month, McLean & Dickey Insurance invited the community to drop by and enjoy the giant (12-foot) Christmas Tree set up in their lobby at 4 King Street, Orillia.

Citizens were encouraged to make a donation to The Sharing Place Food Centre during their visit to the Orillia insurance company. Citizens heeded the call.

McLean & Dickey dropped off a van-load of food to The Sharing Place Food Centre Friday as part of the company’s annual Christmas fundraiser.

"We’re proud to say that we delivered a grand total of 652 pounds of food to help combat food insecurity in Orillia," noted a company official.

McLean & Dickey staff were thankful to Chris Peacock, executive director of the Sharing Place, for giving them a grand tour of "this incredibly well-organized facility that does so much for our community."
