COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF ORILLIA AND AREA

The Community Foundation of Orillia and Area (CFOA) is proud to announce the distribution of $40,300 in grants to 15 local charities, supporting their vital work in serving vulnerable residents of Orillia and area.
CFOA is a locally run, public foundation that builds and manages permanent endowment funds from charitable donations. These contributions are invested for long-term growth, with annual earnings directed to meet the needs of local charities and the community.
This fall, CFOA awarded grants to organizations for a variety of impactful initiatives, including:
- $2,480 to Hillcrest Lodge: replacing six refrigerators for tenants.
- $1,500 to Arts Orillia: supporting the Gathering: Festival of First Nations.
- $2,400 to Redwood Park Communities: towards Jubilee House’s rent supplement program.
- $2,000 to Green Haven Shelter for Women: providing pyjamas for women and children.
The CFOA’s investment portfolio has surpassed $20 million and is comprised of a variety of funds. These fall grants come from the Smart and Caring Communities Fund, the Patti Cox Children’s Fund, the Patti Cox Seniors’ Fund and the Casino Rama CREW Festive Fund.
In 2024, the CFOA has granted over $542,000 to local charities.
