NEWS RELEASE
GREG JAMES THOMSON PHOTOGRAPHY
*************************
Local photographer Greg James Thomson has opened a new studio in downtown Orillia offering a variety of services.
The new space will allow Thomson to further his portrait photography business, with a strong focus on headshots, fashion, product shots, personal branding images and editorial concepts.
It will also serve as a gallery space for his fine art photography prints, a venue for workshops and a video production studio.
The studio is located above the Meridian Credit Union at 73 Mississaga St. E., just a few metres from the Orillia Peter Street Arts District where Thomson previously shared space with Orillia artist Patti Agapi at Suite 204 until the end of 2017.
Thomson grew up in the Orillia area and graduated from Park Street Collegiate Institute before studying business administration at Georgian College and graduating with a major in marketing. He eventually worked in the radio industry and moved to Muskoka in 1998 to help start up the Moose FM radio chain.
In 2014 Thomson purchased a DSLR camera and fell in love with the art of photography. When he became serious about the photography business in early 2016, he decided to move back to Orillia and its vibrant arts community.
Thomson is hosting a Studio Open House on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. All are welcome to drop by to view the new space. Discover Thomson’s services and portfolio on his website or connect with him on Facebook and Instagram.
