TOP OF THE HILL FARM

Prince Charming, known around the farm as Sebi, is getting his coat bathed and toes polished as he gets ready to walk across the stage at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga this weekend.
The very calm, friendly pony is once again going to “act” as the cart pony in the production of Cinderella, put on by the Sean Boutilier Academy of Dance.
“He just loves all the attention,” says Erin Amos, owner of Top of the Hill Farm outside of Orillia. “He loves kids and he just shines when he goes on stage.”
It is a sentiment that is echoed by the dance studio, Director of Social Media, Crystal Nicholls; “He is really impressive. He adds production value. It’s also a great experience for a lot of our dancers who have never seen a pony before.”
This is the second time Sebi has been cast by the dance studio to be in the production. “We put on Cinderella every four years. It is very important to Sean that it is a real production for our dancers, not just a dance recital. We want our dancers to know what it feels like to be in a professional show.”
For Sebi, he no stranger to the public eye. He has been on numerous news programs and goes to local schools to educated students about horses and farm safety. That is on top of his regular duties as a school and show pony at Top of the Hill Farm.
Cinderella runs from Friday to Sunday, with an evening performance on Friday, two shows on Saturday and a matinee Sunday. It is a huge cast with almost 1,500 dancers taking part, ranging in age from 3- to 18-years-old. Tickets are still available and can be purchased on the Living Arts Centre website.
Top of the Hill Farm is a family-owned, modern equestrian facility, specializing in hunters, hunter and ponies. They offer riding lessons, horse training and sales.
The Sean Boutilier Academy of Dance Etobicoke location was established in 1983 followed by our Mississauga location in 1993. In a very short period of time the dance studios gained the reputation of being one of the more recognized Cecchetti based dance schools in the country for teaching students of all ages and levels of ability, in the discipline of dance.
