MIDHURST - By popular demand, the Simcoe County Museum has opened a new temporary exhibit that is sure to make tracks across the County. Making Tracks – Mountain Biking in Simcoe County explores the evolution of the sport in the region and how Simcoe County has been a training ground for World Cup champions and Olympics team members.

This exciting temporary exhibit runs between May 12 and Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The temporary exhibit results from an idea brought forward by residents of the community. It features mountain bikes from the past 30 years, a tandem bike, and even a mountain bike used in the Tokyo Olympics by Simcoe County’s Peter Disera. Interactive areas include a winners’ podium and a stationary bike used to compare museum visitors’ skills with pro athletes.

Admission to the museum is by donation. There is no set cost; however, there is a suggested fee of $5.00 per person.
