The Art in Public Places Committee (APPC) invites members of the public to check out the new Stack Gallery exhibition located at the Orillia Recreation Centre, 255 West St. S.

The theme for the exhibition is “Inclusion” and challenged artists to explore what the term meant to them through an artistic and creative lens. The notion of “inclusion” refers to the practice or policy of providing equal access to opportunities and resources for people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized. This latest call from the Stack Gallery invited artists to think critically about what it means to be inclusive as individuals and in the community.

“For the City of Orillia, 'Inclusion' is not just a theme but a fundamental value that drives our community forward,” said Mayor Don McIsaac. “This exhibition artfully captures the diverse interpretations of inclusion, reminding us all of the importance of embracing and celebrating our differences."

The exhibition showcases six works of art by artists from Orillia and surrounding areas. Each piece offers a unique perspective, fostering a deeper understanding of the importance of inclusivity in our society.

“Art has the power to challenge our perceptions and inspire change,” said Tazra Miller, APPC Member. “The ‘Inclusion’ exhibition not only showcases the incredible talent of our local artists but also sparks important conversations about equality and community.”
