Phillip McKinlay, of Orillia, won $50,000 in the Aug. 29 Triple Millions draw.

Taking a chance on a limited-time lottery game has paid off for an Orillia man.

Phillip McKinlay won $50,000 in the Aug. 29 Triple Millions draw.

The father and grandfather has been playing the lottery with OLG for more than 40 years, and this is his first big win.

“After the draw, I looked up the winning numbers on OLG.ca and saw that I had won $50,000,” McKinlay said in a news release. “I kept looking at the numbers, making sure I was seeing them right. I even asked my neighbour to review my ticket to confirm that I had really won.”

He plans to save his winnings.

The winning ticket was purchased at Duffy’s Quik Mart on Front Street South in Orillia.
