A recent visitor to Orillia was thrilled when a local went “above and beyond” to return his wallet in an act of kindness for a stranger.
Peter Fisk, a Prince Edward County resident, was recently in town visiting a friend when he lost his wallet at The Beer Store — a loss he didn’t know about until the OPP contacted him saying they had his wallet.
“I had no knowledge that I dropped my wallet, and then I got a phone call from the OPP on my cellphone,” Fisk told OrilliaMatters. “My wallet was returned with everything in it, so it was returned with my driver's licence, my health card, and $20 was in the wallet, and the $20 came back.”
Fisk said a stranger found the wallet, reached out to the OPP, and police then returned the wallet to his friend’s house.
“When you lose all your personal effects, it's a nightmare getting a new driver's licence, getting a new health card,” he said. “I was just so appreciative of the kindness of whoever did return it, and the cooperation with the police. I mean, it was amazing.”
“That goes above and beyond what would happen in most places.”
Before leaving town, Fisk said he left his contact information with The Beer Store on the off chance he can thank the stranger for their act of kindness.
