TOWNSHIP OF ORO-MEDONTE

The Township of Oro-Medonte’s chief administrative officer (CAO), Robin Dunn, will be retiring this spring.
Mr. Dunn was appointed CAO in October 2007, representing over 16 years serving the community of Oro-Medonte.
Throughout his 38-year career in public service, Mr. Dunn held various senior leadership positions in municipal government, including the City of Thunder Bay, Town of Caledon, and Municipality of Meaford, prior to joining the Township of Oro-Medonte.
During his tenure as CAO, Mr. Dunn oversaw several projects and initiatives, including significant service enhancement, and organizational process improvements. He also led the township’s emergency control group throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, working closely with colleagues and local organizations throughout Simcoe County, to maintain the delivery of township services and enhance support for the community.
In his role as CAO, Mr. Dunn worked with council to set corporate objectives for the township, founded on responsible fiscal management, customer service excellence and service delivery, performance measurement, and a commitment to accountability in public service.
Mr. Dunn commented that “the last 16 years serving as Oro-Medonte’s CAO has been the pinnacle of my career. I have appreciated and enjoyed working collaboratively with my fellow colleagues throughout Simcoe County and community leaders. Oro-Medonte has experienced positive change and achievements, only made possible through the unwavering support of council and municipal staff. Together, we have worked tirelessly to serve the public. As I shift into retirement, I will reflect fondly on my service alongside exceptional staff teams and council’s.”
During the span of his career, Mr. Dunn’s collaborative leadership style has empowered municipal staff to lead with success, achieving results for the betterment of each community he has contributed to. Robin has influenced the Township of Oro-Medonte’s ability to attract and retain talent and achieve recognition as an employer of choice.
Mayor Randy Greenlaw commented that “Mr. Dunn’s experience, professionalism and guidance will be missed. I am truly grateful we had Robin at the helm of the township for several years. We are extremely thankful for the years of service Robin has dedicated to the community of Oro-Medonte, and countless remarkable accomplishments he has contributed to. Robin has done an exceptional job of guiding Oro-Medonte’s senior leadership team to embrace the current term of council, and has been instrumental to getting council up to speed in an efficient and effective manner. On behalf of Oro-Medonte council and staff, we wish Robin all the best in his well-deserved retirement.”
Mayor Greenlaw will work with council and human resources to begin recruitment for the township’s next CAO.
