POEM: The 'jolly old fellow' will soon be on his way

As Christmas approaches, as we listen for the 'sounds of hoofs on the roof,' we think about the anticipation of Christmas morning

The following Christmas poem was submitted by G. Biss of Orillia:
********************

Just a couple of days now until Christmas Eve
And the sounds of hoofs on the roof
As children have heard of Santa’s visit
And wonder if it’s really the truth

Is there actually a jolly old fellow
With reindeers pulling his sleigh?
Will all those cookies and that glass of milk
Be gone when we get up Christmas Day?

Will the stockings we hung on the fireplace
Be filled with fruit and toys?
Will there be some special things for the girls
And lots of other things for the boys?

And how about the presents I asked for?
Will they be wrapped, under the tree
Will there be some for my sisters and brothers
And some special ones for me?

And, of course, their questions will be answered
With the emptying of stockings and paper torn
And just a few crumbs of cookies left
When they get up on Christmas morn.
