A ward boundary review is underway in Severn Township, and residents are invited to have their say.

The township is conducting the review “to ensure it continues to be an effective and equitable system of representation that keeps pace with population growth and changes in our community,” according to its website.

“The review will determine if it is necessary to adjust the ward boundaries to achieve a more balanced distribution of population among wards. This helps to ensure that each councillor represents a similar number of constituents, promoting equitable representation and responsiveness to community needs.”

An online survey is available to be filled out before Dec. 15 and can be found here. Paper copies of the survey can be completed at the township administration centre (1024 Hurlwood Lane), the Coldwater and District Community Centre (11 Michael Anne Dr.), the Washago Community Centre (4361 Hamilton St.) and the Severn Township Public Library (31 Coldwater Rd.).

An open house will take place Nov. 21 at the township administration centre, with sessions happening from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

More information about the ward boundary review can be found here.
