MIIKANA MARKETING AND PROMOTION INC.
*************************
Miikana Marketing and Promotion Inc., a majority Indigenous-owned promotional company, is dedicated to making it easier for businesses to connect with their audiences through carefully chosen promotional products that reflect their brand identity.
Co-founded by Rama First Nation entrepreneurs Donna Reid and Julie Sawyer, along with Carlos Freddy Martins, Miikana brings a personal touch to each project, helping clients create lasting connections with their audiences.
“For us, every client’s story matters,” says co-founder Carlos Freddy Martins. “We don’t just offer promotional products; we help businesses craft memorable experiences that genuinely connect with their audiences and reflect their core values.”
“As a new company, we cherish every client relationship, regardless of size,” says Donna Reid. “We give personal attention to each project and are committed to delivering our best. When our clients succeed in connecting with their audience, we succeed, too.”
Behind Miikana, meaning ‘path’ in Ojibwe, is a personal journey of family and community reconnection for sisters Donna Reid and Julie Sawyer. As daughters of a ’60s Scoop survivor, Donna and Julie grew up outside the reserve due to their father’s displacement into the foster care system. Through Miikana, they are creating a path back to their roots, establishing a presence within the business community that honours their story and heritage.
Julie Sawyer adds, “Our goal is to grow and create meaningful job opportunities for the next generation within our community.”
As a local, Indigenous-owned business, Miikana is dedicated to making a positive impact — both for their clients and for their community.
