NEWS RELEASE
RAMARA PUBLIC LIBRARY

Tim Hortons recently announced that Smile Cookie Week will take place from April 29 to May 5.
The iconic chocolate chunk cookies topped with pink and blue icing drawing out a smile will be available at every participating Tim Hortons restaurant across the country. The best part? One hundred per cent of proceeds from these special cookies will be donated to local charities in which the restaurants operate.
This year, we’re very proud to announce that Ramara Public Library has been selected as a recipient of this fundraiser. The library is so appreciative of this opportunity and encourage the community to come out and support at the Brechin Tim Hortons location during the Smile Cookie campaign. Pre-order forms for boxes of 12 are available at the library or online. You may also order boxes of nine through the Tim Hortons app. Forms and payment must be made at the Brechin Tim Hortons at least 48 hours in advance. Proceeds from Smile Cookie purchases will help fund programs and events at the library, directly impacting families, youth and adults in Ramara and area. Examples include summer reading prizes, March break performers, and wildlife educators for children and youth, including crafting, author talks and other high-interest adult programs, and more.
Tim Hortons has been raising funds for local charities for over 25 years. Last year, Tim Hortons restaurants raised a record breaking $19.7 million for local charities and community groups — an incredible accomplishment contributing to the Smile Cookie legacy of over $111 million raised since the program’s inception. Every Smile Cookie is as unique as the people, charities and communities they help.
What is the Smile Cookie campaign?
The Smile Cookie program first started in 1996, to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario. For one week, the iconic chocolate chunk cookies topped with pink and blue icing drawing out a smile are sold at participating Tim Hortons restaurants across the country.
How much is a Smile Cookie?
During the campaign, guests can enjoy a Smile Cookie for $1.50, plus applicable taxes. One hundred per cent of the proceeds go towards local charitable organizations.
Where do the proceeds go?
One hundred per cent of proceeds from each cookie is donated to a local charity or community group in which Tim Hortons restaurants operate. In 2024, 600 charitable organizations in communities across Canada will directly benefit from Smile Cookie sales.
How can Canadians show their support during the Smile Cookie campaign?
There are two ways you can participate in Smile Cookie Week:
- Visit your local participating Tim Hortons between April 29 and May 5 and buy a Smile Cookie for $1.50 (plus tax).
- Or, you can pre-order a box of Smile Cookies by downloading and filling out an order form in advance, and dropping it off at your local Tims. Pre-orders must be made 48 hours in advance.
How much did Smile Cookie raise last year for charities?
Thanks to the support of Tim Hortons restaurant owners, team members and guests, the Smile Cookie campaign in 2023 raised a record-breaking number of smiles, with $19.7 million donated to charities, hospitals and community groups across Canada.
Why is Smile Cookie so important?
The Smile Cookie campaign is a great way for Tims guests and restaurant owners to give back to their communities. One hundred per cent of funds raised through the sale of Smile Cookies go directly to local charities selected by restaurant owners, including our organization.
How are Smile Cookie recipients selected?
Each charity or community group recipient is selected by a local Tim Hortons restaurant owner.
