The annual Feeding Families campaign is here, running from Nov. 20 to Dec. 15 to address the financial and food needs of families in Ramara Township.
“For the past four years, our community has demonstrated remarkable generosity and support for families in Ramara,” stated Mayor Basil Clarke. “We are immensely grateful for the financial contributions from our residents and businesses, along with the incredible volunteers, community organizations, and staff, who have made this campaign a shining success. I am confident that, with the support of our community, we can achieve or exceed our goal of raising $10,000.”
The Feeding Families campaign has raised over $40,000 to assist local families in Ramara Township. This effort is made possible through the contributions of the following partners and individuals:
- Brechin & District Lions
- Brechin Foodland
- Brechin Mara Legion
- Ramara Chamber of Commerce
- Ramara Fire and Rescue Services
- Ramara Recreation
- Ramara Township Public Library
- Jane Lee
- Susan Potalivo
- Roger Selman
Additionally, the township invites donations of new or gently used mittens and hats for the Mitten Tree, along with new or gently used winter coats and non-perishable food items. These donations will be available during business hours for residents to take what they need. As the campaign concludes, any remaining apparel will be donated to local schools, and all food items will be given to a local food bank.
Similar to prior campaigns, this year’s goal is to raise $10,000 or more in money and gift card donations that will be distributed to local families in need. All donations can be dropped off at the following locations:
- Township administration building
- Ramara Centre
- Ramara Public Library branch — Ramara Centre
There will be several events taking place throughout December that includes the following:
- Fun, Frost, Family — Free holiday event at the Ramara Centre on Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.;
