The Canadian Cancer Society's CIBC Run for the Cure returns to Centennial Park in Barrie this fall.

Registration is now open to residents of Simcoe County who wish to run or walk either the one-kilometre or five-kilometre route in support of breast cancer awareness.

Participants can either fund-raise individually or on a team.

“Funds raised through the CIBC Run for the Cure enable us to invest in life-saving breast cancer research, provide compassionate support programs, and continue to work with governments to shape a healthier society,” organizers stated in a news release.

One in eight women are expected to face a breast cancer diagnosis in their lifetime.
