Genevieve Denomme of Innisfil can realize her dreams after winning a $1 million MaxMillions prize in the Aug. 20, 2024 Lotto Max draw.

Genevieve, a retiree, has been playing Lotto Max and Daily Grand weekly for a decade. She is now celebrating her first big win and the thrill of becoming a millionaire.

“I received an email from OLG, and my initial reaction was to question its authenticity,” Genevieve recounted, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.

“I woke my daughter up and asked her to review the email to make sure it was real. When I got up the next morning, I thought, ‘Was that a dream or did I really win?’ I had to check my email again to reassure myself that I had truly won.”

“I was in shock for an entire week,” Genevieve laughed. “Winning has been amazing and life changing. It’s like a dream come true!”

With her windfall, Genevieve plans to invest and buy her daughter a car.

Lotto Max players in Ontario have won over $8 billion since 2009, including 108 jackpot wins and 918 MaxMillions prizes, right across the province. Lotto Max is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The winning ticket was purchased on OLG.ca.
