Christmas-like weather blanketed Coldwater on Saturday night as Santa and Mrs. Claus made their way from the North Pole for the annual Coldwater Santa Claus Parade.
“Merry Christmas everyone,” yelled Santa Claus as he travelled along the snowy main street of Coldwater.
The parade, which is put on every year by the Coldwater Lions Club, is a staple in the community.
This year's parade saw almost 45 floats bring joy to the countless families who came out and packed the streets along the parade route.
“It’s so great to see all the people come out to see such a great parade,” said longtime Coldwater resident Phyllis Smith.
Smith was echoed by many people commenting on the number of people who came out to watch the parade, with some estimating over 3,000 people attended the annual spectacle.
The festive night in Coldwater didn’t just involve a parade.
There was free hot chocolate and hot beverages at Em’s Café, all sponsored by the Coldwater Funeral Home. Immediately following the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus greeted children, handed out candy, and posed for classic Santa photos at the Coldwater Mill.
The festivities don’t stop with the conclusion of the parade. Over the next couple weeks, Santa’s Lane on Cyril Martin Place will feature dozens of Santas and a light show with an in-car musical display.
