Michael Steele of Barrie has $111,509.90 to put toward his dreams after winning a Lotto Max second prize in the Nov. 8, 2024 draw.

Michael, a retiree, has been playing Lotto Max since its debut in 2009. He uses OLG’s Quick Pick feature to make his selections and is now celebrating a big win.

“My wife ran upstairs and told me I had an email from OLG, saying that I had won on my Lotto Max ticket,” Michael recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his windfall. “I leaped out of bed to read the email for myself. I thought it said I had won $111.50, but I missed a few zeros.”

“I was certainly surprised and happy to learn about my win. At first, my wife and I had a hard time believing it,” Michael smiled. “It was definitely worth the effort of buying a ticket. You just never know what will happen,” he concluded.

With his winnings, Michael plans to pay some bills, help his family, and take a trip.

Lotto Max players in Ontario have won over $8.8 billion since 2009, including 109 jackpot wins and 929 Maxmillions prizes, right across the province. Lotto Max is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The winning ticket was purchased on OLG.ca.
