Grab a lemonade and mark your calendars for the always-awesome TD Summer Reading Club at the Orillia Public Library.
Registration kicks off on Tuesday, July 2 at 10 a.m. in the family department, and we’ve got some serious stacks of hand-picked favourites waiting for word-hungry bookworms aged zero to 13. But hurry, because the last day to register is July 31, and this is an in-person only-affair.
Track your reading; win exciting prizes
Read. Report. Reap rewards. Repeat. Each participant will receive an official TD Summer Reading Club logbook to track their summer reading adventures. Whether your child is a budding book lover or a seasoned story-timer, we’ve got something special to ignite their imagination and stoke their love of reading. They can report their reading adventures weekly to our friendly family department staff, collect stickers, and earn ballots for our exciting weekly prize draws — or they can enter their ballots into the draw for the amazing grand prize of a $600 gift card to the Orillia Recreation Centre.
That’s right — by simply reading, reporting, and having fun, your little ones could win big. The last day to report is Aug. 24, so keep those pages turning.
Fun-filled programs all summer long
Our summer lineup is jam-packed with fun, free programs that will keep your kiddos entertained and inspired. From story walks and movie nights to tween craft parties and more, there’s something for everyone, thanks to a fantastic roster of sponsors who are making all this possible: TD, Jack & Maddy, The Rossman Team, Marika Fox Decluttering, Boston Pizza, East Side Mario’s, The Cone, and Kawartha Dairy. Teen Summer Bucket List
Teens, we’ve got you covered, too. Our Teen Summer Bucket List is an independent challenge and prize program that you can complete wherever you’re at this summer. Attend Orillia Public Library teen programs or complete listed challenges to enter as many online ballots as you can from July 2 to Aug. 24. The more you participate, the better your chances of winning amazing prizes.
Turn up the heat with Hot Readers
Don’t worry, grown-ups. We haven’t forgotten about you. Our Hot Readers program is a scorching summer reading experience designed exclusively for adults. Share the sizzlers you’ve been reading to be entered into draws for our biweekly prize baskets filled with gift cards, treats and library swag. And that’s not all. One lucky Hot Reader will win the fantastic grand prize valued at over $200 — including a $50 gift certificate generously donated by Smoke’s Poutinerie and $150 in Downtown Dollars.
To participate, simply fill out a ballot online or pick one up at the library beginning Tuesday, July 2. Each entry brings you closer to winning fabulous prizes and discovering new literary gems that will make your summer truly memorable.
Our Summer Reading Clubs are about to begin, and the library is brimming with great reads hot enough to fry an egg on. (Please don’t.) And when things really start to heat up, don’t forget we’ve got AC.
