The Orillia Concert Association is pleased to welcome new and current subscribers to our 2023-2024 season, set to open with our first concert on Oct. 29.

An ensemble from the Toronto Concert Orchestra leads off our season at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian on Oct. 29 at 2:30 p.m. This group is a dynamic and intimate ensemble of the Toronto Concert Orchestra’s principal players. Named in memory of Kerry Stratton’s musical legacy, Stratton Soloists continues Kerry’s heart of sharing music — the firm belief that good music can be found in all genres, and classical music can be enjoyed by all.

For this performance, the ensemble will in fact present music from several musical genres. There will be pieces from classical greats including Vivaldi, Prokofiev, Handel, and Puccini, as well as more contemporary music from John Williams (Theme from Schindler’s List), Eric Clapton (Wonderful Tonight), AC/DC (Thunderstruck) and Metallica (Enter Sandman). There will be something for everyone.

Next month we present Daniel Vnukowski at St. Paul’s Centre on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 2:30 p.m. Windsor-born Daniel Vnukowski is one of the country’s finest young concert pianists. He has performed in recitals and orchestral concerts across North America and Europe. Founder of the Collingwood Music Festival and Piano Six 2.0, he is the morning host on Classical 96 FM.

In 2024 there will be concerts with the Chris Robinson-Will Davis Quartet (Jan. 28), the James Campbell Trio (March 24), and, rounding out the season, Ensemble Vivant (May 5). We hope you will be able to join us for one or all of these fine concerts.

If you have not yet purchased tickets, please contact us or visit the Orillia Opera House box office at secure1.tixhub.com/orillia-oh/online/index.asp. A full subscription is still just $90 for the five concerts, an amazing deal (just $30 for students). If you have not yet had a chance to purchase tickets, you may purchase a season’s subscription at the door for this first concert, or online through the Orillia Opera House.
