As the weather cools down, events heat up at the Stephen Leacock Museum National Historic Site. Break out of your regular routine and join us at the museum for one of our amazing fall events.

A Royal Downton Abbey Picnic
Saturday, Sept. 28, 2-5 p.m.
$35 each

Rediscover the perfect summer outing at our Royal Downton Abbey Picnic. Celebrate a great afternoon of old-fashioned games such as three-legged races, potato sack races and egg-spoon races. Parasols and picnic blankets are very welcome. Our east lawn will host an afternoon badminton match to the sounds of our 10-piece orchestra, Sunshine Strings.

Win great prizes for badminton games and draws for best dressed in Downton Abbey inspired picnic attire where white and cream will be the brightest of all colours. Picnic baskets of baguette sandwiches, assorted cheeses, fresh summer fruit and high tea sweets, tea cups and linen napkins are available. Lemonade and sun-kissed sweet tea will be served.

This event is open to all ages and families. Online reservations are required in advance due to popularity. Tickets are available through shoporillia.com

Night of the Vampire
Friday, Oct. 25, 6-9 p.m.
$30 + HST

Quench your thirst for all things fanged and frightening! We invite all vampires (or hunters) to join us for an evening of trivia, contests, readings and games. Themed food and beverages will be on sale for purchase and a bloody delicious mocktail is included in the cost of the ticket. We will finish off the evening with a visit from “The Vampyre Tales” author, Wayne Mallows. Enter our Vampire Background Story contest to win prizes and be judged by Wayne Mallows. An Off the Shelf Event
Saturday, Oct. 26, 1-4 p.m.
$5 suggested donation per person

Bring your ghouls, boys and monsters for an afternoon of hauntingly fun vintage Halloween activities. Carve a family pumpkin, make some crafts and play some games.
