Snow Squall Warning in effect for:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago

Snow squalls expected today.

What: Additional snowfall accumulations of 5 to 15 cm. Poor to near zero visibility in snow and local blowing snow.

When: Continuing into this afternoon.

Additional information: The highest amounts are possible if lake effect snow bands lock in for a prolonged period.Conditions will improve this afternoon. Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common.

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
