Do you have a new business idea? Are you considering starting a new business? Not sure where to start or how to make it happen?
The Orillia Area Community Development Corporation (CDC) is hosting two free workshops on May 14 focused on how to start a business.
The first session is set for noon to 2 p.m. on May 14. A light lunch will be served.
Participants can also choose to attend an after-work session, set for 5 to 7 p.m., on May 14, where light snacks will be served.
Both sessions will be held in the CDC boardroom at 22 Peter St. S. in Orillia.
Attendees will learn how to evaluate their entrepreneurial skills and ensure their business ideas are ready to launch. The sessions will also outline what steps to take to get prospective entrepreneurs prepared to get their business ideas off the ground.
The workshops will be facilitated by Dan Landry, client services officer with the CDC. Landry has been providing business coaching and mentoring since joining the CDC in 2021. He is an experienced business operator and community economic developer, with strong marketing and communications skills and a passion for small business development.
Space is limited for both sessions. For more information and to register for one of the two workshops, visit www.orilliacdc.com/workshops or call 705-325-4903, ext. 101.
The CDC is a federally funded non-profit, providing a wide range of services for businesses in the Orillia area. The CDC teams up with community partners, including the City of Orillia, Tourism Simcoe County, Orillia & Lake Country Tourism to offer ongoing workshops and seminars for local entrepreneurs.
