The staff at HollisWealth Orillia have found themselves divided – for a good cause that is!

This year’s Bowl for Kids’ Sake has inspired the HollisWealth Orillia team to take their fundraising to the next level: Women vs. the Men!

The HollisWealth team will be taking to the lanes on Monday, April 8 in support of raising funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orillia and District.

“We are less than two weeks away from our annual Bowl For Kid’s Sake fundraiser and with that, we have our annual Darren O'Halloran and Tom Jarvis vs. Jaidyn Turner-Nesbitt and Laura Uttley competition of who can beat the others with our fundraising efforts," said Uttley.

“This year we’ve upped the ante," said Turner-Nesbitt. "To make it even more exciting, the winner this year gets to give one of the losers a pie to the face! Knowing we may be able to see Darren get a pie in the face is a little extra incentive to raise that much more.”

The winner of the Pie in the Face challenge will be announced on Friday, April 12. The pie throwing will take place at the HollisWealth office on the same day.

If you can’t be there in person, don’t worry as a video of the festivities will be made available online.

“Raising funds for an organization like Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orillia makes good business sense," said Jarvis. "Being in the financial industry we know a good return on investment when we see one, and that is exactly what we get from Big Brothers Big Sisters.”

“For every $1 donated to BBBS Orillia, there is a return on investment to the community of $18," noted Jarvis. "This is proven through the educational success the children who have been served by their agency will see. Not to mention they are more likely to give back when they get older as well as they are found to be more confident individuals.

"An investment that has a return of 1:18 is one that is hard to pass up. Even if it means the investment is into your community as a whole rather than your own pocketbook," said Jarvis

“My son and I participate in the Bowl for Kids’ Sake every year," said O'Halloran.

"I feel it's important for our children to not only learn about why we give back but to also get o.ut and to get involved first hand in raising funds for organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters.

“If taking a pie to the face means more children are able to be matched with a mentor, then I say bring on the pumpkin pie!”
