BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF ORILLIA AND DISTRICT

Puck-er up for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orillia and District (BBBSOD) 2025 Winter Classic in partnership with Orillia Volkswagen.
Scheduled for Friday, Jan. 17 to Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, the Big Brothers Big Sisters annual hockey tournament draws crowds of players and spectators from Simcoe County, Muskoka, Grey-Bruce, and the Greater Toronto Area. The tournament can accommodate up to 30 teams over five adult divisions with the finals taking place on Sunday.
“Out of our core events, the hockey tournament is the one that draws the largest and most lively crowd. This year, our goal is to raise $45,000 to help us work towards our mission of igniting the power and potential in our youth,” says Haleigh Payne, fundraising and community development co-ordinator at BBBSOD.
The tournament is presented in partnership with Orillia Volkswagen, a dedicated Big Brothers Big Sisters community partner, but the agency is still looking for more event partners and sponsors.
“We are so excited for the Winter Classic this year. It is a lot of work but so worth it,” says Payne.
“Registrations are steadily coming in, with a good mix of returning and new teams, but we still have room for more. Our community continues to support our agency in all that we do and we are so grateful.”
