ORILLIA CHANNEL CATS SWIM CLUB

The Orillia Channel Cats Swim Club recently competed in the first long-course (50-metre pool) meet of 2025.

Thirty swimmers from the bronze, silver and gold training groups participated at the Guelph Long Course Pentathlon. Swimmers raced in either a 50- or 100-metre of all four strokes — butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle — as well as the 200-metre individual medley or the 400-metre individual medley.

Swimmers were put to the test both physically and mentally racing five events long course in a short amount of time.

Long-course season officially begins in February, with Ontario Age Group Championships toward the end of the month.

Swimmers who participated include Nadine Ackert, Nash Allen, Brady Bell, Jace Black, Maelle Bouchard, Isabella Brown, Sophia Brown, Georgia Cameron, Margot Cameron, Cooper Chrysler, Carmen Conroy, Anna Crawley Blauel, Kael Cresanto, Emma Edgerton, Ava Fairgrieve, Cohen Greer, Cheyanne Hawrysio, Grace Hunter, Zoe Leboeuf, Seohyun Lee, Harrison Levene, Sam Pecorella, Dario Rotar, Hartley Russell, Mila Sekleski, Trenton Shepherd, Simone Smith and Nicholas Willis.
