Former Barrie Colts goaltender Jet Greaves will make his NHL debut tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Reporters covering the Columbus Blue Jackets have confirmed Greaves will get the start in net.
The Blue Jackets announced Monday that the 22-year-old Cambridge native had been added to the roster as an emergency recall from the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate. Goaltender Jon Gillies was sent down to Cleveland.

Greaves, who celebrated his birthday last Thursday, has posted a 28-26-9 record with a 3.06 goals-against average (GAA), .900 save percentage (SV%) and two shutouts in 67 career AHL games with the Monsters since making his pro debut in 2021-22. The six-foot, 184-pound goalie is 16-14-5 with a 3.23 GAA, .895 SV% and one shutout in 38 appearances with the club in 2022-23.
He was signed by the Blue Jackets to a three-year, entry-level contract on Feb. 20, 2022.
To add to the local flavour, the other goalie on the Columbus roster is Barrie native and fellow former Colt Michael Hutchinson, who starred with his local OHL team from 2006 to 2009. The 33-year-old also played for the Leafs in parts of four seasons.
Greaves played two seasons (2018-19, 2019-20) in Barrie with the Colts, compiling a 20-27-3 record.
The lowly Blue Jackets (24-44-8), who sit in last place in the Eastern Conference standings, are coming off a dreadful 7-0 loss to the Florida Panthers on Saturday night, while the Leafs (45-21-10) have the fifth-best record in the conference and have clinched a playoff berth. The Leafs lost 5-2 to the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday.
Puck drop is set for shortly after 7 p.m., at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
