The Orillia Channel Cats Swim Club recently participated at Huronia Short Course Regionals Championships. Swimmers who made the Regional time standard in one event were eligible to participate.

“We had a great meet, swimmers raced well and put everything they could into their performances," said Cats head coach Meredith Thompson-Edwards.

Three swimmers qualified for Ontario Youth Junior Championships which is held in March. Chloe Smith (17) and Ariel McGee (14) both qualified in the 100-metre butterfly and Zach Moczkodan (15) qualified in the 50-metre freestyle.

Seven club records were also broken.

Maelle Bouchard (9) attended her first Regional Championship meet and did a great job.

“Maelle didn’t let her nerves take over and just got in and raced the best she could," said Coach Tatum Haslem.
