ORILLIA CHANNEL CATS SWIM CLUB

The Orillia Channel Cats Swim Club recently competed at Huronia Short Course Regional Championships held in Bracebridge.
The Huronia region consists of teams from Barrie, Peterborough, Muskoka, Collingwood, Owen Sound, Hanover, Lindsay, Port Elgin, Orillia and Orangeville.
The Channel Cats placed third overall once again this year behind Barrie and Orangeville.
Three more swimmers qualified for the Ontario Age Group Championships: Maelle Bouchard in 200-metre backstroke, Riley Shore in 50-metre freestyle and Mila Sekleski in 200-metre butterfly. Harrison Levene added to his list of qualified swims by making the 200-metre freestyle standard. Trenton Shepherd broke the boys 10-and-under short-course club record in 50-metre breaststroke (43.60).
Swimmers who placed in the top three in one or more events include Jace Black, Sophia Brown, Georgia Cameron, Margot Cameron, Anna Crawley Blauel, Everett Dorevich, Ava Fairgrieve, Cheyanne Hawrysio, Harrison Levene, Sam Pecorella, Mila Sekleski, Trenton Shepherd, Hartley Russell and Adair Wieclawek.
Swimmers who also contributed to the total team performance include Nadine Ackert, Nash Allen, Kaitlyn Allin, Brady Bell, Kajun Bonnekamp, Maelle Bouchard, Isabella Brown, Christopher Dorevich, Harrison Dorevich, Emma Edgerton, Lilly Edgerton, Cohen Greer, Katie Heckendorn, Grace Hunter, Henry MacDonald, Hayden Nie, Peyton Pendlebury, Dario Rotar, Mateo Rotar, Caden Stuart, Ralph Woergerer and Nicholas Willis.
The Orillia Channel Cats will be sending nine swimmers to the Ontario Age Group Championships later this month being held in Markham and Scarborough. These swimmers include Sam Pecorella, Adair Wieclawek, Harrison Levene, Ava Fairgrieve, Anna Crawley-Blauel, Jace Black, Maelle Bouchard, Riley Shore and Mila Sekleski.
