Ex-NHLers assist Hockey Helps the Homeless in scoring $186K for charity (8 photos)

Former pros Mike Gartner, Adam Graves, Gary Roberts and more took to the ice with teams during Friday tournament in Barrie

The annual Hockey Helps the Homeless tournament raised more than $186,000 with help from former NHL players and 153 participants on 10 teams at the Peggy Hill Team Community Centre on Mapleton Avenue in Barrie on Friday.

The goal was to raise $165,000 to support local homeless youth, with the money raised going to the Busby Centre and Redwood Park Communities.

Participants included Hockey Hall of Fame member Angela James, the first Canadian woman inducted into the hall, along with former NHL players including Gary Roberts, Mike Gartner, Adam Graves, Mike Krushelnyski, Wes Jarvis, Darryl Shannon and more.
