The 24th annual Ontario Provincial Police Charity Volleyball Tournament enjoyed a great turnout this past weekend at Orillia Secondary School.
Dozens of volleyball players came out to showcase their skills in a two-day, three division tournament.
Though the tournament is put on by the OPP, it is not exclusively for police or first responders, OPP Central Region said.
There was a good mix of civilian teams as well as teams from the OPP, Toronto Police Service and Peel Regional Police.
In the competitive division, the winning team was Team Awesome!, in the intermediate division The Misfits took the title and in the recreational division Bad Boys and Girls were the winners.
The tournament raised nearly $5,000, which will be spread among organizations including Orillia Secondary School, the OPP Youth Foundation, the OPP Museum, the Alzheimers Society and Autism Awareness.
