The Orillia Channel Cats Swim Club’s 2024-25 season is underway.

Swimmers from the bronze, silver and gold training groups recently competed at Trent University at the Peterborough Fall Invitational.

The swimmers were pretty excited to be back racing again, and were able to ‘get the cobwebs out’ and remember how to race. The first few meets give both coach and swimmer excellent information on what needs to be worked on in more detail, in order to keep improving. Swimmers raced personal best times, and showed improvement in technique as well as endurance. All swimmers did a great job supporting one another throughout the meet.

Swimmers who attended the meet include Maelle Bouchard, Isabella Brown, Sophie Brown, Carmen Conroy, Anna Crawley-Blauel, Emma Edgerton, Ava Fairgrieve, Maya Guller, Cheyanne Hawrysio, Katie Heckendorn, Grace Hunter, Riley Shore, Adair Wieclawek, Jace Black, Cooper Chrysler, Kael Cresanto, Christopher Dorevich, Everett Dorevich, Cohen Greer, Harrison Levene, Hayden Nie, Hartley Russell, Harrison Sibley, Caden Stuart and Nicolas Willis.

The club’s next competition is this weekend in Barrie, where 46 swimmers from senior novice, bronze, silver and gold will be competing.
