Coach says swimmers' 'motivation levels have increased' since competition resumed

The Orillia Channel Cats Swim Club recently competed in Markham at the Mallards Long Course Spring Invitational.

Members from the Silver and Gold training groups were in attendance at the competition.

“This was the second long course meet for our swimmers since the reopening and our athletes showed improved long course times and technique,” said head coach Meredith Thompson-Edwards. “We are happy to be able to race again. We have noticed most swimmers’ motivation levels have increased with the reintroduction of competition.”

Swimmers in attendance included Indiana Abram, Kaitlyn Allin, Evangeline Cooke, Jackson Denne, Taryn Fenton, Alycia Golding, Sayre Hart, Anna Holton, Olivia LePage, Hayden Nie, Peyton Nie, Esmee Rosati, Tristan Sekleski, Mackenzie Tavares, Adair Wieclawek.

Fenton and Blythe Wieclawek will be competing at the Provincial Spring Forward Meet April 7 to 10 in Markham.
