ORILLIA CHANNEL CATS
*************************
The Orillia Channel Cats Swim Club recently competed in the Owen Sound Canadian Record Challenge. Fifty-two swimmers from Orillia participated in the meet.
“This meet isn’t a qualifier so it gives all levels of swimmers the opportunity to race prelims and finals as well as bond with the team,” says Coach Meredith Thompson-Edwards.
Blythe Wieclawek (12) broke four short course club records in 50 butterfly (30.48), 50 backstroke (32.94), 100 Individual Medley (1:13.84) and 200 Individual Medley (2:35.18).
“Blythe is having a great season so far, she has set numerous club records both short and long course and has qualified for Canadian Junior Championships in 50 meter freestyle,” adds Thompson-Edwards.
“We are pleased with our swimmers results, there were a lot of personal best times and top eight finishes,” says Coach Tatum Haslem.
