Orillia Hawks soar at tournament in Cobourg

The Hawks started strong with a win and just missed a chance to battle in the gold-medal game at Halloween Havoc event

The Orillia Hawks U15 BB squad had a strong showing at the Halloween Havoc Tournament in Cobourg recently.

The U15BB Orillia Hawks spent a weekend in Cobourg playing in the Halloween Havoc Tournament.

Starting out strong, the girls took on West Northumberland on Oct. 25 and soared with a 5-0 win. Emilija Ligers had two goals. Kyah Thompson, Kallie Yakeley and Molly Mee each scored a single. Bethany Lewis, Ellie Lynch, Peyton Hoyt, Lauren Torrance, Isabella Cheslock and Cabot Fergsuon helped their teammates with assists.

During the second game of the tournament, the Hawks came face to face with the mighty London Devilettes. They tried hard, but lost 5-2. Orillia goals were scored by Isabella Cheslock (unassisted) and Kaydence Thomspon from Cabot Ferguson.

The next morning, the team tied 2-2 with Durham West Lightning. Jorgia Kitcher landed one in net with thanks from Ellie Lynch. Kallie Yakeley scored the tying goal, unassisted.

Later on that day, the Hawks took on the Durham West Lightning for a chance to play for gold. The Lightning struck and the Hawks went down 3-1. Orillia’s goal was scored by Kaydence Thompson with the assist going to Jorgia Kitcher.
