On Saturday, Jan. 11, the U15BB Orillia Hawks faced off against their longtime rivals, the Barrie Sharks, in an action-packed game.

The puck dropped at 2:30, and the intensity never let up. Barrie struck first, taking an early lead with a goal in the first period. However, the Hawks quickly responded as Kaydence Thompson fired back with an unassisted goal to tie the game at 1-1.

The Hawks weren’t done yet. With a sharp pass from Kailee Taylor-Wood, Emilijia Ligers slipped the puck past the Barrie goalie, putting Orillia in the lead.

The momentum carried into the second period as the Hawks applied relentless pressure. Kaydence Thompson set up defenceman Peyton Hoyt, whose powerful slap shot from the blue line soared into the top corner of the net, leaving the Sharks’ goalie stunned.

Orillia’s scoring streak continued as Jorgia Kitcher capitalized on a setup from Lauren Torrance and Kallie Yakeley. Ellie Lynch then sealed the deal with an unassisted goal, marking the Hawks’ fifth of the game. Despite their best efforts, the Sharks managed only one more goal, as Hawks goalie Olivia Weaver stood tall in net.

The Hawks skated away with a well-earned 5-2 victory, sending the Sharks home with “fins down.” It was a dominant performance that highlighted the Hawks’ teamwork, determination, and skill.

On Sunday, Jan. 12, the U15BB Orillia Hawks hit the road to face the Orangeville Tigers in an exciting game filled with standout moments.

Jorgia Kitcher opened the scoring with a remarkable goal, expertly set up by a crisp pass from Molly Mee. As the clock ticked down in the first period, defenceman Lauren Torrance found the back of the net with a well-placed shot, thanks to a perfect setup from Kallie Yakeley.

In net, Sawyer Seberry was unbeatable, turning aside all 10 shots she faced to earn a shutout. Her calm and composed performance anchored the Hawks’ defensive effort and secured the win.

The Hawks’ combination of teamwork, precision, and skill made this game one to remember as they left Orangeville with a well-deserved 2-0 victory.
