The Orillia Lady Kings house-league field lacrosse players braved the rain again on Monday night for some fantastic lacrosse.

Although records weren’t perfect with game sheets getting soaked, there were many notable achievements.

In U7 game play, the Little Lady Kings worked hard on their passing skills and scooping up eggs this week. Despite the downpour the Tatham Engineering team played against BMO Nesbitt Burns and goals were scored by many. Coaches were especially pleased to see the hard work and many great assists.

The Kitchen Shop pink team cooked up a tough game against Kutting Edge, both teams not letting the rain get them down. Coaches were pleased to see them working as a team and focusing on their ground balls and passing.

The U9 players drenched themselves in fun, playing close games. The Speedy Glass red team showed their unbreakable determination by keeping the game close with Millwood Logistics. Baileigh Brain scored a goal for Speedy Glass, while Kate Mollon stayed tough as nails on the field.

Whelan North invested themselves well in their game against 2nd Century Sports, scoring five goals for the win. Isla Flamino and Norah Belviso both scored two goals, while Zoey Beaudin scored a single for the winning team.

In U11 action, Mid Ontario Disposal dumped in six goals for the win against Brewery Bay. Five of the winning goals were scored by cousins Violet Whelan (three) and Delilah LaFraugh (two), with a single marker scored by Arabella Edwards.

Champlain Ready Mix poured a solid foundation for their win over Tryon Construction, scoring five goals. Brooklyn Reed was on fire with a hat trick, while singles were scored by Klara Culp and Yvonne Lee. Assists were marked by Vivian Ashcroft and Abigail Davison.

The U13/U15 teams didn’t let a little rain slow them down. The Stoutts team took the charge out of Atmosphere Electric in a close 7-6 win. Isla Davies and Rosa Belviso were incredible on defence for the win. Goal scorers for Atmosphere Electric were Alexandra Fagan, Anna Fagan and Chloe Weiler on assists from Peyton Hoyt and Isla Quinn.

Mariposa Landscaping edged out Strachan and Morris in a close 8-6 game with an insurance goal for the win. Mariposa goals were scored by Ellie Lynch (two), Kaelyn Drennan (two), Morgan Panell (two), Leighton Mainer (one) and Kyah Thomspon (one). Arrianna Pellarin helped with an assist. Chloe Crittenden was sensational in net for Strachan and Morris, keeping the energy high with her moves for the grey team. Rayne Noganosh scored two celebratory goals on her special day and Ivy Lowry was fantastic playing attack and learning to dominate offensively.

Players and fans are looking forward to games on Monday next week.
