Nolan MacNeal had a stellar night on the mound and also had three hits as he helped the Orillia Royals scored a 13-2 win over Innisfil last night. Orillia now meets Creemore in the finals, with Game 1 slated for tonight at the Jerry Udell diamond at Tudhope Park at 8 p.m.

The Wes Brennan Construction Junior Royals are hoping to cap a stellar season with a league championship.

The Royals finished atop the regular season standings thanks to an impressive 14-2 record and received a first-round playoff bye.

The local squad emerged from their brief break to sweep aside Innisfil. Last night, Orillia was dominant in a 13-2 win to complete the series sweep and move on to the finals.

Nolan MacNeal had a night last night pitching a complete game and only surrendering two runs in the final inning. He also went 3-for-3 at the plate with two
doubles.

Chase Brennan also had a strong night with three hits including a monster solo home run in the fourth frame. Owen Kaczanowski, Ben Barzo, Jhett Winkel and Teddy Mccollum-Kuntz each chipped in with two-hit games.

The Royals scored in every inning, but it was the five-run second inning that solidified the lopsided victory.

The Royals now face the Creemore Padres in the best-of-five league final with Game 1 starting tonight at 8 p.m. at the Jerry Udell diamond at Tudhope Park.

Wyatt Thompson gets the mound start for the Royals who are looking to avenge losing to the Padres last year in the playoffs.

Admission is free.

"Please come support the hometown team," urged coach Wes Winkel.
