With two convincing wins over the Muskoka Hitmen, the Orillia National Nutrition senior softball team continues to dominate the Simcoe Muskoka Senior Softball League.

Orillia is a front-runner in the senior softball league with a 15-1 record while Barrie Kage remains in second place at 11-5.

In the first game of the doubleheader, Orillia started slowly but gained momentum to roll over host Muskoka at the beautiful Peake Fields Ballpark Complex in Bracebridge by a score of 17-2. For Orillia, Rick Gardy had a three-run homer while Derrick Lafleur, Brian Gardy, Randy Ley, Dave Stanford and Peter Newman were all perfect at the plate. Rob Milligan and Wayne Martin shared pitching duties for the win.

Game 2 fared little better for host Muskoka as National Nutrition came out of the gates with five runs in the first inning for an eventual 20-6 win. Both Derrick Lafleur and Rick Gardy homered to lead the way while Newman, Martin, Lafleur, Rick Dory, Dave Boatman, Joe McDonnell and Stanford were all perfect at the plate. Once again, Milligan and Martin shared pitching duties for the win.

On board, the Orillia seniors will face the fourth-place Huronia Grey Jays, and then next week travel to Barrie to face second-place Barrie Kage.
