ORILLIA CHANNEL CATS SWIM CLUB

The Orillia Channel Cats Swim Club recently participated in the Barrie Trojan Aquafest Invitational Meet.
Forty-six swimmers from the Orillia club were in attendance, racing against swimmers from Pickering, Lindsay, Barrie, Uxbridge, Belleville, and Caledon.
Twenty swimmers placed within the top eight in their age groups in one or more events. These swimmers include: Brady Bell, Jace Black, Maelle Bouchard, Isabella Brown, Sophia Brown, Georgia Cameron, Margot Cameron, Kael Cresanto, Christopher Dorevich, Everett Dorevich, Harrison Dorevich, Lilly Edgerton, Ava Fairgrieve, Grace Hunter, Harrison Levene, Sam Pecorella, Dario Rotar, Hartley Russell, Mila Sekleski and Trenton Shepherd.
Harrison Levene, 13, qualified for Ontario Age Group Championships in the 100-metre backstroke as well as Ontario Swimming Championships in the 800-metre freestyle and 200-metre backstroke.
Sam Pecorella, 14, also qualified for Ontario Age Group Championships in the 400 Individual Medley and the Ontario Swimming Championships in 100-metre and 200-metre backstroke.
Grace Hunter, 15, was awarded a team spirit award during the meet, as determined by coaches from other clubs based on their observations of who was cheering and supporting their teammates.
Other swimmers who were in attendance and posted some personal best times include: Nash Allen, Kajun Bonnekamp, Alivia Cavanagh, Cooper Chrysler, Carmen Conroy, Emma Edgerton, Olivia Favaro, Emony Fisher, Cohen Greer, Maya Guller, William Guller, Josie Hare, Zoe Leboeuf, Kamryn Light, Sierra Light, Henry Macdonald, Seth Pye, Ayan Rau, Mateo Rotar, Riley Shore, Bennett Sibley, Soficya Slade, Simone Smith and Coen Tippin.
