The Boots and Hearts Barn Burner Charity Hockey Game is thrilled to announce a significant addition to its 2024 roster.

Five incredible players from the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) will be joining the star-studded event, bringing even more excitement to the Sadlon Arena on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024.

Among the new additions are Barrie’s own Jessie Eldridge, along with hockey superstars Marie-Philip Poulin, Laura Stacey, Jill Saulnier, and Ann-Renee Desbiens. These athletes are exceptional players and inspiring role models for young female hockey enthusiasts in our community.

Mayor Alex Nuttall expressed his excitement about the inclusion of PWHL players, sharing: “We are ecstatic to welcome these phenomenal athletes to our event. Their participation not only elevates the level of play but also serves as an inspiration to young female athletes in Barrie and beyond. Representation matters, and having these incredible women on the ice shows our young audience that their dreams are within reach.”

The annual Boots and Hearts Barn Burner Charity Hockey Game, a much-anticipated event, will feature top-tier talents from both the National Hockey League (NHL) and the PWHL, uniting for a night of thrilling hockey to support local charities. This year’s game aims to surpass the impressive $270,000 raised in 2023 for essential organizations such as the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, PIE Education, Rotary Club, and other impactful local charities.
