Terriers off to fast start, look to keep streak going this weekend

Terriers top line has 16 points in first two games of the season; Orillia hosts rival Stayner on Saturday night at Rotary Place

Newcomer Jordan Fuller is off to a hot start with the Jr. C Orillia Terriers.

The Mclean and Dickey Orillia Terriers got their Provincial Junior Hockey League season started last week with two games, winning both: an 8-6 triumph in Penetang on Friday, followed by a 9-3 victory Saturday night over the visiting Huntsville Otters in their home opener.

On Friday the Terriers came out fast and built up a 5-1 lead only to watch Penetang come back and tie the game at 5-5. The Terriers scored three goals in the third to seal the victory.

Newcomer Jordon Fuller led the way with four goals and Josh Presley had a hat trick to lead the way offensively. Aidan Jerry was in net and picked up the win.

In Saturday’s home opener, sponsored by Sunshine Car Wash, the Terriers came up with a convincing 9-3 win in front of a crowd of 321 spectators. Again it was Fuller leading the way with a hat trick and Jerry picking up the win between the pipes. 

The Terriers top line of Fuller, Dylan Palomaki and Lleyton McLean are off to a hot start, combining for 16 points in the two games.

They will look keep up pace as the Terriers have two games this week, starting in Innisfil Friday night to take on the Spartans. They hen have a home date on Saturday against the Stayner Siskins. Game time is at 7:30 p.m. at Rotary Place.
