The Orillia McLean and Dickey Terriers capped a three-games-in-four-days stretch with a dramatic come-from-behind win as the local squad swept to three wins in recent Provincial Junior Hockey League action.
The Terriers notched 4-1 wins over both Stayner and Innisfil and then rallied to a 5-4 overtime win against Penetang.
In Stayner on Thursday night, Orillia played one of their best games from start to finish as they scored twp goals in each of the first two periods.
Dylan Palomaki and Cole Tucker scored in the first, while Jordan Fuller and Caiden Carroll scored in the second to stake Orillia to a 4-0 lead heading into the third as the visitors skated to a convincing 4-1 victory. Aiden Jerry had a great game in net to pick up the win.
At home on Saturday, the Dogs skated to a 4-1 win over Innisfil. Colton Dumond and Josh Presley scored in the first period while Palomaki and Tyler Kelly scored in the third period.
Palomaki and Fuller tallied four points each. Nathan Hunter stopped 24 of 25 shots to pick up the win in net.
On Sunday, players from the host Terriers and visiting Penetang Kings, as well as the officials, took part in an on-ice Remembrance Day service as they gathered around the centre ice circle to give thanks to veterans past and present for their service to our country and to the ones who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Penetang scored the only goal of the first period. In the second period, Penetang stormed out to a four-goal lead behind the great goaltending of Landon Simec.
Finn Price would score a late goal to give the Terriers some life heading into the third period. A powerplay goal by Price midway through the period cut the lead to two, setting the stage for a furious comeback as Palomaki would score with just over two minutes remaining. Fuller scored the tying goal, bringing the crowd to their feet, netting the tying goal at 19:22 of the third period.
That set the stage for overtime where Evan Feltis would be the hero for the Terriers as he scored the winner a little over a minute into the OT. Hunter picked up the win in net for the home side.
The Terriers next see action Friday, Nov. 22 in Midland. They are back on home ice at Rotary Place in west Orillia on Saturday, Nov. 23 when they host Huntsville. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
