Orillia Terriers bench boss Dallyn Telford will coach his 250th game in the Provincial Junior Hockey League Friday night. The Terriers are having a stellar season to date, compiling two more wins last week to improve to 18-3-1 on the season.

The McLean and Dickey Orillia Terriers played two games this past week, collecting all four available points as they won 5-2 in Stayner on Thursday, before getting the win Saturday at home when they skated past Innisfil 7-4.

The Terriers started out slow in Stayner in a game that would help determine second place in the North Carruthers division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League.

The Siskins got off to hot start and jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the second period. But a goal by Tyler Kelly got the Terriers back within one and gave them the spark they needed as Colton Dumond would tie the game up early in the third.

The Terriers would pull away, as Jordan Fuller netted two and Lleyton McLean added a single tally to secure the road win for Orillia. Aidan Jerry was strong in net to pick up the victory between the pipes.

The win allowed Orillia to leapfrog ahead of Stayner in the standings.

On  Saturday, the Dogs would  take a 2-1 lead on goals by Lleyton McLean and Finn Price heading into the second period at Rotary Place.

Innisfil would score to tie the game up before Orillia scored three straight times, on goals by Dylan Palomaki, Fuller and Liam Norman to take a three-goal lead.

But Innisfil would score late in the second period and early in the third to get within one.

However, goals by Kaiden Robitaille and Josh Presley secured the victory for the home side. Jerry was in net for the victory. Palomaki got an assist on the first goal, giving him 100 assists for his career.

With the two triumphs, the Terriers improved their impressive record to 18-3-1 and are one point ahead of Stayner despite playing one fewer game than the Siskins.

The Terriers next see action Friday in Huntsville (7-16-1) and then return home to play Midland (5-15-1) on Saturday night at Rotary Place in west Orillia. Game time is 7.30 p.m.

On Friday, Terriers bench boss Dallyn Telford will coach game number 250 in his career.

Orillia is hosting what it's calling a Minor Hockey Weekend Dec. 21-22. Any local minor hockey player — from Orillia, Coldwater or Oro — wearing their team jersey will be admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult.

In addition, on Dec. 22, the Terriers are hosting a Christmas food drive. Anyone who brings a non-perishable food item for The Sharing Place Food Centre will be entered into a draw for prizes. The more donations, the better the chance to win a prize.

Please come, enjoy some great hockey and help out a good cause.
