The McLean & Dickey Orillia Terriers had just one game last week, following their holiday break, skating to a decisive 7-2 victory in Penetang last Friday.
The Terriers came out strong after the Christmas break, scoring four goals in the first period. Marcus Petroff started the scoring followed by goals from Josh Presley, Jordon Fuller — with his team record-breaking 33rd goal of the season to break Josh Brown's record — and Evan Feltis.
The Dogs got two power-play goals from Caleb Tiffin-Seminara before a late goal by Penetang gave the Terriers a commanding 6-1 lead after the second period.
Penetang got an early third-period goal, before Jordan Fuller, with his second, rounded out the scoring to spark the Terriers to a 7-2 victory. Aiden Jerry was strong between the pipes to backstop the team to victory.
With the win, the Terriers improved their Provincial Junior Hockey League record to an impressive 23-3-1, good enough for second place in the Carruthers Division. Alliston remains in first place with a perfect 27-0 record. The Hornets are the only undefeated team in the 63-team league.
The Terriers next see action on Jan. 15, when they travel to Muskoka to take on the Bears. The next home game for the Terriers is Saturday, Jan. 18 at Rotary Place against Stayner. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
