Eight of 12 runners secure spot in provincial championship slated for this weekend in Uxbridge

The Twin Lakes Secondary School cross-country runners had an outstanding season this year with eight of 12 runners qualifying for OFSAA this Saturday in Uxbridge.

Congratulations to Jacob Hazel for blowing away from the competition in the junior boys' race in yesterday’s GBSSA cross-country championships. Jacob easily won the race, leading the junior boys team to an overall second place, qualifying them as a team for OFSAA next week. The junior boys' team includes Tristan Sekleski in 11th, Oliver Avery in 21st, Lachlan Sharpe in 31st and Silas Bauman in 36th.

In junior girls, Hazel McGill dug deep to place 10th, qualifying for OFSAA, Hailey Irvine was 19th and Molly Hazel was 30th.

In senior girls, Elle Waite also qualified for OFSAA, placing eighth out of 56 runners.

In senior boys, Brogan Long led the Twin runners with a seventh-place finish out of 80 runners, followed by Nathaniel Sneyd in 16th and Erik Vurma in 22nd. Brogan has also qualified to represent Twin Lakes at OFSAA.
