For 24 years, Raising the Roof’s annual Toque Campaign has worked with partner agencies to provide long-term solutions to prevent homelessness in Canada. This year, for the first time, Redwood Park Communities is a partnering agency, with funds raised supporting the creation of safe, affordable, hopeful housing right here in Simcoe County.

Yesterday, Feb. 2, 2021, Redwood Park Communities staff and volunteers were out in full force across Canada raising funds and awareness for homelessness.

It is extremely important to us to find long-term solutions to prevent homelessness in the Simcoe County region and across Canada. We are thankful for community agencies such as Redwood Park Communities for raising funds and awareness for homelessness, and supporting the creation of safe, affordable, hopeful housing.

On behalf of Council, Mayor Doug Leroux has proclaimed Feb. 2 as “Toque Tuesday.” The Town of Penetanguishene encourages all citizens to support Raising the Roof’s 2020-2021 Annual Toque Campaign and Redwood Park Communities’ partnering in this ongoing initiative.

Please visit Redwood Park Communities inc. or Raising the Roof for more information on how to help.
