It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Alderdice (nee Atkinson) of Shanty Bay at Royal Victoria Regional Health Care Centre in Barrie, Ontario on November 24, 2024 in her 79th year.
Cherished mother of Judy Alderdice and Chris Alderdice (Nicole). Proud Gramma of Kim, Allison (Jacob), Amber (Andy), Christie (Mack) and Julie. Great Gramma to Little Henry and James.
Dear sister of the late Gail Blight and her surviving husband Allen and to Gary Atkinson and his late wife Jeanette. She will be lovingly remembered by her aunt, many nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews. Thank you for your love and support.
Carol spent many years teaching at East Oro Public School before closing out her career at Guthrie Public School. She possessed a no-nonsense approach to education in the classroom as she wanted all of her students to succeed. Carol shared many fond memories of her students and the time that she spent with them.
Thank you to the wonderful caregivers and staff at Royal Victoria Regional Health Care Centre with a special mention to her oncologist Dr. Z Veitch. In Carol’s memory donations can be made to the Hudson Regional Cancer Centre.
In keeping with the families wishes there will be no visitation or services at this time.
