Robert “Bob” John Anderson, BCom (1966) from the University of Toronto, CMA, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 15, 2024, in his 81st year. Beloved husband to Janis (nee Macdonald), father to Graham Anderson (Liz Malczak) and Cheryl Hill (Ross), grandfather to Sarah, Megan (Arianne), Connor, Sean, Craig, Nicole, brother to Marcie (Casey) and uncle and cousin to many. Robert will forever be remembered for his sense of humour, love of the outdoors, and devotion to his family.
Born in Toronto, Robert spent his formative summers working on the family farm in Dufferin County. After his early career in Toronto, Robert and his family moved to Calgary in 1978, where he worked for Dome Petroleum and volunteered many hours with the Girl Guides and Boy Scouts, leading numerous weekend activities involving horseback riding, camping, and canoeing. In 1998, after retiring from the tax department (“we generated the most profit per employee in the company!”), he volunteered for the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area until he and Janis relocated back to Ontario to retire at the family cottage property in Orillia in 2006. He enjoyed many years of swimming and rowing in Lake Couchiching, often with his grandkids.
