BEERS, Carolyn Jane (nee Hannaford)

March 6, 1942-August 9, 2018.  Daughter of Harold & Miriam Hannaford (predeceased) and wife of Arnold Beers (predeceased).  Sister to Phil (Chris) and Blake. 

Mom passed away peacefully surrounded by her 4 children & their spouses at OSMH. Kevin (Connie), Alanna (Terry), Darren (Connie) & Adrian (Suzanne). There are many family stories that could be shared, but given Mom’s off colour sense of humour these may best be kept private. Mom will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Arielle (David), Max (Sadia), Jessica, Julia, Jack & Jonah, Stephanie, Holly, Becca, Mitchell, Spencer, Chad, Cole, River, Sadie & Ava-Grace, great granddaughter Madison as well as her best friends, Gary & Beth. She will also be missed by her many nieces & nephews. Not to be forgotten are her furry friends Honey & Marmalade. Over the years, mom fostered over 50 different children in need. Mom’s interests are far too many to mention but included: knitting, ceramics, quilting & collecting music boxes. Her skill and spider senses at the slot machines brought her great joy as well as many free buffet meals & concerts for her family and friends. Despite her tyranny with restaurant servers & retail clerks, mom was a determined lady with a love for humour & a soft spot for the less fortunate. Per mom’s wishes there will not be a service but we will be holding a celebration of life at a later date. Thank you to all of the staff at OSMH for supporting our mom in her farewell tour. She very much enjoyed wearing her skull patterned pajamas for your viewing pleasure. A special thanks goes to Dr. Tigchelaar from the ER as well as Jenn & Desiree from Harvie 4 for the genuine care, compassion & understanding that you have shown. We really had no idea that you could fit that many chairs into a room!
